About Rooo Valley

Less than 15 minutes from State College sits central Pennsylvania's newest all-breed, all-age lodging, social, and activity center for dogs.

Rooo Valley, also home to the Nittany Greyhounds Adoption Center, offers distinctive kennel services, including long- and short-term boarding, day care, private dog park, and fun and educational opportunities to dogs and the people who love them. We are non-profit, so every penny of your Rooo Valley experience dollar goes to the dogs.

Our beliefs are simple:

  • Your dog needs love and attention. Dogs staying at Rooo Valley are given several play times each day in huge grassy turn-out areas, with either other dogs or our volunteers, who all have years of experience in dealing with dogs. Your dog is pampered and cared for as if our own because we love dogs. (See Why Rooo Valley?)
  • Your dog needs a clean, warm, secure, and comfortable place to stay. Our inside kennels are private, roomy and each dog is given a bed, blankets, treats and toys. Our kennel is both heated and air conditioned and super-clean, and every dog has free access to his/her personal outside run during the daylight hours. (See more about Our Facilities)
  • You need to know your dogs are loved and safe. We have 24/7 supervision of the kennel; no dogs are ever left together unsupervised; and our perimeter fence ensures even further security. We have a daily vet-tech visit and two of our staff members are certified in dog first aid. We have relationships with several veterinarians close by if need be. (See more about our Security)
  • You need flexible hours. We offer drop-off/pick-up hours custom-created for your needs, even on weekends or evenings. Because we are fully staffed, we can be there when you need us to be. Whether it's long term or just for the day, we will try as best we can to accommodate your needs.
  • You want a simple fee structure. $1 per hour... no matter how many hours your dog stays. No charges for play time; no charges for giving medications (some extreme exceptions may apply--let's chat about it); no extra charges at all! (Multiple dog discounts apply. see Fee Structure)
  • You need a safe place to bring your dog for off-leash play and companionship. Rooo Valley offers a private member dog park where every dog is "certified social" and you can bring your dog with confidence to a secure, beautiful farm with large open areas, beautiful gardens and wooded trails.
