Our Volunteers

We have some of the most avid dog fanatics on the planet who volunteer at Rooo Valley.

Our full-time volunteers are Gretchen, Jennie, and Millie, who actually live on the property. They are our 24-hour Team Dog... the ones who pick their way down to the kennel in the dark in the ice to take care of the dogs... the ones who shovel endlessly in the winter months and mow grass endlessly in the summer months. Between them, they have decades and decades of experience in caring for dogs and a never-ending supply of energy and dedication to our mission here.

Our other volunteers include Toni, our General Manager. She is President of Nittany Greyhounds, and the hub around which our facilities operate.

Nancy is our office manager; she's the person you talk to when you call, and she keeps our files and reservations.

Sheena, Ellen, Joni, Joy, Kim, Mike, Natalie, Ann, Jo, Cindy, Mark, Ben, and Janet (and the occasional other) make up more of our all-volunteer Team Dog, sharing everything from keeping the pony fed to cleaning out the cat box, to scrubbing kennels, to just sitting and petting the dogs. These are all jobs we love to do and we do them happily every day all day.

We also have teams of Penn State students who come out for occasional project days and cub scouts and boy- and girl-scouts who also show up once in a while for a service day.

Your dog is in good hands while at Rooo Valley!
